It’s official, we’re expanding our Pride Tour all summer long!
Big news - We’ve had so much fun at LGBTQ+ Pride that we’re extending the CA vs Hate Pride Tour! You can hit the road with us all summer long to support California’s LGBTQ+ community and take a stand against hate.
We’re kicking off the new leg of our tour at San Diego Pride and the California State Fair this weekend! These will be our sixth and seventh stops on the tour. During Pride month, CA vs Hate has already shown up and shown out in Fresno, West Hollywood, Sacramento, Chico, and San Francisco.
Our statewide Pride tour is about helping ensure all Californians know that there is support available when you report hate. Pride events serve as powerful platforms for promoting inclusivity, celebrating diversity, and advocating for equality across all of California’s diverse communities.
You can find us in the coming months at:
Officially launched a year ago by Governor Newsom, CA vs Hate is the state’s first-ever multilingual statewide hotline and online portal that provides a safe, anonymous reporting option for victims and witnesses of hate acts to access resources and care coordination services.
Anyone in California can report hate and get support by going to CAvsHate.org or calling 833-8-NO-HATE. The hotline, which is administered by the California Civil Rights Department, is in direct response to an alarming increase in reported hate crime.
No community is immune to hate and hate crimes targeting people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity have also risen in recent years. According to the California Department of Justice, reported hate crimes targeting people based on their sexual orientation have continued to increase, rising 3.6% from 2022 to 2023.
Together, we’re taking a stand against hate alongside our communities across California!
